This notice explains how HMX Ltd, trading as HMX Engineering, handles personal data in connection with this website. HMX Ltd is the data controller for the information described below.
What this website collects
This website is a single static page. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising technology, and it does not create a profile of your visit. Nothing is stored on your device beyond what your browser does automatically to display the page.
Our web hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type and the time of your request. These are generated automatically as part of delivering the site securely and are not used to identify you.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, your email address, your company and a description of what you are working on. We use that information only to respond to your enquiry and to carry out any work that follows.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests for responding to a business enquiry, and performance of a contract where we go on to work together. Where you send us information about a project, please avoid including material that is commercially sensitive or covered by a confidentiality agreement until we have one in place.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We use established service providers to run our business, including email and file storage, and they process data only on our instructions. We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where we are engaged on a project, we retain project correspondence and records for six years after the work ends, in line with our professional and tax obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete data we no longer need;
- object to or ask us to restrict our processing;
- ask us to transfer your data to another provider.
To exercise any of these, email info@hmx.ltd. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
